We are a Rangiora-based club promoting safe aviation and providing a dedicated community of friendship and support. We have comfortable facilities for use by our club members, including two large hangars in which members can house aircraft.
The club owns two 80hp Tecnam P92 Echoes (ZK-RGA, and ZK-RGC) and one 100hp Tecnam P92 Echo Mk II (ZK-RGE). We also have access through members to training in other 3-axis and weight-shift aircraft.
To fly our aircraft you will need a Microlight Pilot Certificate (or a PPL/RPL as long as you belong to the RNZAC). To get started you can contact one of our instructors who will not only teach you to fly, but also help you with the minimal paperwork.
Additionally, many of our members have built, or are building, aircraft, so there is a wealth of information and support available for those interested in aircraft construction.
If you would like to find out more about our club just come out one weekend, or contact us on Facebook.
Events are organised on a regular basis by the Club Captain & Social Events Committee
Event details are posted on Facebook.
CRAC OPEN DAY 2025
Our biennial CRAC Open Day is coming up on 12 April 2025 at Rangiora Airfield, Mertons Road.
This is always a great event, with a huge array of microlight aircraft on display (and their owners more than happy to tell you all about them). We will have a delicious range of food and refreshments supplied by local vendors to sustain you throughout the day.
Whether your aviation interests lean towards cross-country flying, local sightseeing, big-tyre off-field adventures, aircraft construction, photography, or planespotting, you will undoubtedly find yourself amongst friends old and new.
If you have been thinking about learning to fly recreational aircraft, dusting off an old logbook, or embarking on a build, this is a great time to come out and see what our Club is all about.
Our Open Day is a fun day for everyone - the young and not-so-young, aviators & aspiring aviators, aircraft builders, and even those who prefer their feet on the ground.
More details will follow on Meta (Facebook).
